Three friends

Three women sit together on a rock beneath the trees, absorbed in conversation. The moment is quiet and unremarkable at first glance — yet it holds the warmth of friendship and the ease of being completely present with one another.
 
This painting was inspired by a scene I encountered while traveling through Jharkhand. Seeing them sitting together instantly transported me back to my own college days — long evenings with friends, watching the sunset, talking for hours about nothing and everything.
 
Some moments are too fleeting to photograph and too personal to fully describe in words. They stay with us as a feeling. This painting is my attempt to hold onto one of those moments.
Painted in gouache with warm, earthy tones and soft light filtering through the trees, the scene captures a sense of companionship, stillness, and nostalgia.
